A False Sense of Security
I read a line recently that went –
“Here is a test to find whether your mission on earth is finished. If you’re alive it isn’t.”
Illusions. A lot of experiences in life have taught me one fundamental truth that each one of us chooses to live life in our particular illusions. Which is fine especially given the fact that we are human and hence need our beliefs to survive. As I have always stated that humans find it impossible to live in a state of suspension. If they could their life would be a lot simpler as they would be far more receptive and the learning almost instant.
Thus the duration of each person’s illusions vary as per their ability to change and grow. Time then has the ultimate power. Only with time and the experiences that it offers – good or bad, does realization come that propels change and growth in us. Realization may take a couple of seconds but reaching that state might take months, years and sometimes lifetimes. But one thing is for sure once true realization happens it brings about a permanent change undeterred by anything that life can offer and ready to face any test or challenge that might come our way to test our faith.
As we learn and grow we become stronger because we realize greater truths and see that which other cannot. We are on the path and moving towards the primal truth and this knowledge grows as we keep moving in that direction making us a much more stronger spirit.
But as every upside has a downside too so does this strength that we gain have its dangers. The biggest danger and obstacle to our path of final realization is this false sense of security when we stop believing that we need to learn anything more. The day we start thinking that we are perfect and that we don’t need to grow any longer in human form, that we have learnt, analyzed and understood all there is to about life is the day we stop growing. It is the day we start forgetting why we are still in human form.

The world would have been more miserable without illusions for some as it miserable for others...with illusion...
realisations starts to sink in as you grow older....i guess...a child is so happy in his own illusions...carefree... when u grow up...its a different ball game...

Hi shruti!
I couldnt agree more. But dont you think, that the title gives us a skewed vision of the subject? Why only a false sense of security? If, under his present circumstances, a person does not have the sense of security but the reverse, isn't that too an illusion? A false sense of insecurity?

@sushant - It not the presence or absence of illusions that make us miserable , being happy or sad are by products of having illusions .. each and every one of us choses to live our particular illusions ..if we dont want to live in any illusion we can chose not to . Its true that realisation seems to sink in as we grow older because we forget what we knew as a child and hence have to re learn .
@Raj - I said everything is an illusion just that the illusion is different for diff people then a person having a sense of insecurity is due to his specific illusion . There are several paths that are available to a human and the path I have described here is one of them . This path makes you more secure and cannot make you insecure . If on the other hand a person doesnt have pure faith then he will tend to get insecure but that is not the set of people described here .
Further the title refers to a false sense of security in the literal meaning and not in terms of a particular illusion since illusions are inherently false . What I mean to say is that a person having faith grows and as he does so in his current illusion he/she might get carried away by the experiences they are having and start believing that they are perfect and stop growing .This security in theri perfection that they feel because of the headiness of the strength that they gain is false and one needs to constantly grow in human form and the learning never stops till you die and even death is chosen by us once the learning is over .

I agree with you. Most of us live in some state of illusion/false reality. Sometimes we make ourselves believe that everything we do is right. We close our eyes and pretend that since we cannot see what's happening, then everything we believe in must be what's happening in reality as well. I guess we do all this coz we want ourselves to be wrapped in a secure feeling, even if that sense of security is false.
Long time since I blogged or visited my favt bloggers. Hope you are doing well. :)

@ quills - yes what you have described is the illusion of an alarming majority .. i.e ressitance to change , to improve to let go of beliefs becasue that is ahrd work . I am okay the way i am is such a commonly heard term that sometimes I feel should i eevn try helping others when tehy themselves are in a state fo inertia .
Questioning oneself constantly and incorporating the feedback recieved from oursleves is like accepting that in certain aspects we have been living life in a wrong way . For most that acceptance will bring their world crumbling down and too much strength is required to change hence justifications and rationalising ability of man comes to rescue and no one really wants to introspect, unknown to the fact that true bliss lies in that only . Being born human only we have the ability to introspect and improve but we dont value that do we ? Scary situation but unfortunately true .
Thanks for the lovely comment .Nice to hear from you after so long .

Did you go through this? I doubt if anyone can really enter such a state..

@Zahid - yes ..u seemed to have got the point ..
@arun - No I havent entered that state because I constantly question myself but I have seen people do that ..its very natural for it to happen ..especially if one is knows what one is but hasnt had enough experiences in life to fully grasp their shortcomings.
