Triangle is it ?
Well... I have just started my new profile ... and was glad to learn today that my boss ...GGM flashlights was a thinker as well.... he made a comment which set me thinking ..infact we discussed quite a lot on many issues .. and hence there has been a lot of thinking ..and everything is getting quite jumbled up ( me being a simple person with simple abilities)..hence lets take this one at a time .
One issue which seemed to really interest me was about this triangle ... love , hate or indifference ...boss said that the opposite of love is not hate .. but indifference .. and that love and hate run parallel to each other ... well i would like to blog on this .. but it seemed a good topic for discussion and hence would like to make it an open forum .. hence anybody who visits is welcome to air his/ her views for some stirring discussion ...

but if love and hate are parallel, and the opposite of love is indifference, how can there be a triangle?

so ur boss talks abt love/hate and indifference ? my boss never talks about things other than project deadlines :-) ..
i am not sure if indifference is opposite of love ..indifference may make u walk out of a relation but that doesnt mean u will stop loving that person .

@ mindcurry - would do that .. i have my thoughts on it definitely .. but would like to see what others think about it ..
@Jagan - hmm donno ..maybe ..but if that person didnt affect me I wouldnt be walking out on him ..indifference to aneone is really hard to practice .. even the people u dont care the least about .. hence its an extreme feeling like love or hate ..
Sir is indeed a really nice boss ( touch wood am lucky i guess - my previous boss under whom i was training was also very nice )..Boss has promised to give me food for thought ..its intersting when u find people who are ready to think besides being intelligent ..IIMA passout with a lot to learn from .
@vinesh - yes it set me thinking also ... subconsciously i may ahve been practicing it also .. thats how i distance myself from people who hurt me ..or will keep on doing so ..and whom i love/had loved beyond reason ..

methinks indifference is somethin inborn into us... with lotza things happening all around us.. and lotza characters entering and leaving our lives daily... we are tuned to be indeifferent unless that person is exceptionally nice or a major pain in the ass!
in a place like India and with the lives we are leading.. is there any other alternative??

Well, different people may have different viewpoints on love and hate.
Your boss says it is a triangle, i think of it more of a coin with one side as love and other as hate. Indifference is just the stage where the coin is rolling on its axis before coming to rest on either the side of love or hate.

I agree completely with ur boss... the opposite of love is indifference.
to love or to hate, u have to know someone and feel for them. When you dont, u r indifferent.
